An Act of Kindness Finds Friendship & Membership
Our team of NO SPRING CHICKENS strutted down to the local coffee shop, Lola’s in Brighton to carry out Clue #4. When we arrived, we spotted three ladies getting ready to order. We approached them and explained what we were doing and asked if we could purchase a beverage for them. They were more than happy to help us out. They told us that they knew about WI as they had a friend who belonged to it. We told them about the Codrington Branch and some of the programs we support in the community such as, local hospitals, secondary school scholarships and the Christmas Angel and Hamper programs.
We could tell (in just that short interaction) that these ladies were community minded and fun and would be a great addition to our group. However, they were all involved in other organizations and doing lots of volunteering of their own. It was great to meet them and share with them and to see, like us they are, WOMEN INVOLVED.
