- AN ACT OF KINDNESS FINDS FRIENDSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP
Our team decided it would be a fun to get together and enjoy some time swimming, chatting
and catching up before we headed out to complete the challenge. It was a great afternoon and
by the time we were ready to embark on the challenge, it was time for us to enjoy supper out.
We arrived at the restaurant slightly later than we anticipated, and many patrons were already
finishing and getting ready to leave. It was quite fun to determine who we would “target” and
who was going to do the talking, who would take the photo, and how we would proceed.
There were not many women present and so we decided that we would ask the server – who
had been working hard all day – if she would be able to accept a drink on our behalf.
The young lady was quite surprised and happy to accept and stayed to chat with us. She is a
busy individual working on her Masters Degree. She asked many questions about WI, what it
was about and how we were involved.
We had a lovely afternoon and evening, culminating with a drink, meeting a new friend,
chatting about WI, and a lovely dinner followed by a leisurely walk. - Notes
