- Feb 19, 1897 the first formal organization of Women's Institute took place in Wentworth County, Ontario, combined efforts of Erland and Janet Lee.
Along with the help and encouragement of Adelaide Hoodless. Toady, they have them all over the Globe with many members.
Our Lego layout depicts some of the objectives the Women's Institute has advocated for through out the years.
Starting with the first: Pasturization of milk
*Flashing Red lights on school buses
*Stop lights on certain intersections
*Highway lines used to be white, advocated for yellow, that you see today.
*Slow moving vehicle signs
Just to name a few.
they are very helpful through out their communities in many ways by delivering gifts and bake goods, raising money and donating to all kinds of worthy causes.
