More interest has been shown in Resolutions this past year. Early in the year, requests kept coming in the mail for material suitable for a programme on Resolutions. To have something at hand to comply with these requests, I prepared a panel discussion which contained information on the wording of a Resolution, how it should be dealt with at each level of Institute, and the duties of Conveners at various levels. Copies have been borrowed many times, and I have had notes of appreciation from most Conveners who used it. Study of Resolutions which might be presented by Individual Branches has been reported several times, and great value was derived from this type of programme. One report told of studying a certain Resolution, obtaining all 4 possible information concerning the matter under discussion, and the final decision was that the Resolution was already under conâ€" sideration by the proper authorities, so should not be sent in. Conveners of Resolutions have been appointed in many Branches where they have never had one previously. One District sent me a copy of a Resolution concerning the sale of fireworks, asking if it might be considered as an Emergency Resolâ€" ution at the Annual Meeting of the Provincial Board. I replied that the Resolution was a local matter, and to contact their Municipal Councils in the District and present it to them. Some time later, I received a letter, telling me that my advice had been followed, and that action had already been taken by the enacting of local byâ€"laws to cover the request asked in the Resolution.
