- (4) I We have in the making a Tweedsnuir History of the village "nd urea and though we do have a great deal of material collected, we do not hove nearly enough compiled or enough of the past history yet. We would appreciate all the halp we can get such as articles pictures as the current happenings of the day tell us all you know of the past, and then what we are doing will some day be of the days gone by. . These Histories, by the way, were first started by the influence of Lady Tweedsnuir, wife of the Governor General of Canada serving in Utttwa. Being greatly interested in the history of the country she felt thct it sould be preserved and so approached the $omcn's Institutes to compile these books in every village and town where possible. I hope this will prove of some interest and I do think that lumen's Institute still will 'ane a place in the Sun' for many yelrs to come. Changes will be made but basically the aims will remain the same...as our motto is and I hope shall be "For Rome and Country", is? many more years in Combermere.
