Grindleford Women's Institute 01433 631247 Wayfarers Maynard Road NMhm'%dky Grindleford, Derbyshire via Sheffield, S30 lJD 4th February 1997 Dear Secretary, I am the Secretary of Grindleford Women's Institute in the Peak District of Derbyshire, England and I am writing to you to ask whether you can help us in our latest venture. Each year we host an evening of entertainment, including a meal, for members of Our own and neighbouring W.Is. We choose a country as focus of our evening and this year, because the W.I. celebrates its centenary we have chosen Canada. But -- we need some help! Can you advise us about - a) A suitable (typical) menu - starter, main course and sweet. b) Songs which we might all enjoy singing. c) Other entertainment which might be considered typically Canadian. Also -- l) are there any Stoney Creek posters we could use to decorate our hall for this mid-April evening? 2) Do Canadians call W.I. members "Wild Indians" or is this a British invention? We would be grateful for any information at all and will, of course reimburse you for any costs you might incur. Yours sincerely \Cficfl B Jae/o tux Grindleford Women's Institute c/o Kay Beeston, Secretary Nether Padley, Grindleford, Derbyshire, England Kay Beeston Secretary
