Members and life members gathered with some in period dress. Mayor David Leis of Winterboume attended and presented a plaque to the Branch to commemorate the milestone. The food presented was consistent with that of 100 years ago and was followed by a nostalgic programme. With their spirit of hospitality, genteel manners and strong sense of community, Winterboume W.I. looks forward to celebrating 200 years. Wellington North ifltatrirt Harriston Senior Citizen's Hall, decorated with lace tablecloths and blue and gold table centres was the setting for the Centennial celebration. Beehive Branch played host to neighbouring branches: Greenbush, Little Ireland, Teviotdale and Carry On All branches participated in the programme, with 45 members present. Members told of the accomplishments and skills gained as members. They gained confidence to speak in public, how to conduct a meeting, many handicrafts for courses and of course lasting friendships. Lunch included a beautifully decorated birthday cake and ice cream which was enjoyed during the social hour. A collection was sent to the headquarter's fund (£21er (19:! She also noted that some church bells in the United Kingdom will ring this day to join us in celebration.
