The address by the retiring President. Mrs. Evelyn White was very Interesting as she spoke of her two years when she was so well received by all at the meetings she attended, she will miss it but has many lond memories. Communications were read and new business discussed, as this Is our seventh year we will plan some extra activity for later this summer. Mrs. Barbara DeVisscher. our ,Home Economist brought greet- lngs and spoke on the 4-H projects. Greetings were ex- pressed by Mrs. Frances Gemmill. President at the Grey- Eruce area. The Institute Grace was sung and we walked a short distance to the new Stokes Bay Commun- ity Centre which is shared by the Women's Institute and the Senior Citizens Club. It is a lovely place and eighty some ladies enioyed a lovely dinner supplied by the Stokes Bay Branch. The atternoon started with a sing song with Mrs. Here at Purple Valley on the electric organ. then Mrs. Fl. Fenton, the Provincial Board Director add- ressed the meeting which was very informative. The roll call was answered by 12 branches with (an Old Adage) and the Pennies tor Friendship collection which was a very substantial amount. The District Presidents from East. Centre and South Bruce were guests and brought greet- ings from their Districts. rs , /97f’ Our guest speaker of the day was Mrs. Elegalo, the lounder of Calrnlee Village which started small in Toronto, then another at Inglewood and linelly purchasing 200 acres near Stokes Bay where tney are expanding every year and now have a bake shop. cralt shops, woodworking and garden- ing where the young people are able to work at the [ob most suited for them. it is a great undertaking and are sell sup- porting but need help lrom any group who can supply wool. hockey sticks. old lawn chairs, etc. which are repaired or made into saleable items. Next year's Distrch Annual will be hosted by the Wlarton Branch and the Rally Is the third Thursday at October to be held in the Sauble Beach Community Centre with Rev.
