The Elsinore Ladies met at the home of Mrs. Wm. Hunt on Thursday afternoon, April 4th 1946 for the purpose of organizing an Institute Branch. The meeting opened with singing "What a Friend we Have in Jesus" followed by prayer by Mrs. Patterson. Mrs. H. Rowe presided for the election of officers which resulted as follows. It was moved by Mrs. Ed. Powell, seconded by Mrs. Russel Barclay, that Mrs. Harold Trask be Secretary for the Day. It was moved by Mrs. Russel Barclay. seconded by Mrs. Wm. Hunt, that we have open ballot. It was moved by Mrs. Frank Powell that Mrs. Dick McNab (Jr.) and Mrs. Wm. Hunt be scrutineers. Moved by Mrs. Russel Barclay, seconded by Mrs. Ed. Powell that Mrs. Harold Trask be President. Carried. Moved by Mrs. Patterson, seconded by Mrs. Ed. Powell, that Mrs. Russel Barclay be 1st Vice-President. Carried. Moved by Mrs. Russel Barclay, seconded by Mrs. Patterson, that Mrs. Wm. Hunt be 2nd Vice-President. Carried. Moved by Mrs. Wm. Hunt, seconded by Mrs. Russel Barclay, that Mrs. Ed. Powell, that Mrs. Carl Powell and Mrs. Howard Nelson be Auditors. carried. Moved by Mrs. Russel Barclay, seconded by Mrs. Patterson, that Mrs. Ed. Powell be Agriculture and Canadian Industries Convenor. Carried. Moved by Mrs. Russel Barclay, seconded by Mrs. Jim Trask, that Mrs. Alex. Nelson be Citizenship Convener. Carried. Moved by Mrs. Ed. Moved by Mrs. Harold Trask, seconded by Mrs. Russel Barclay, that Mrs. Howard Nelson be Pianist. Carried. The meeting was brought to a close by repeating the Women's Institute Ode. Lunch was served by Mrs. Wm. Hunt, assisted by Mrs. Dick McNab (Jr.) and Mrs. Frank Powell. It was decided a meeting of all the Officsrs would be held in the near future to arrange the program for the year.
