ARTICLE I flame : This committee shall be known as THE UNITED WELFARE COMMITTEE OF BURNSTOWN ARTICLE II Objective : To remember the sick with cards and fruit, and the bereaved with cards and flowers. ARTICLE III’ Sponsors: This Committee shall be sponsored and financed by The Women‘s Institute, The Woman's Missionary Society and the Women's Association of Burnstown. ARTICAL IV Responsibility : This Committee shall report monthly or when called upon, to each of the sponsoring organizations, and ~ ork in co-operation with the Minister. ARTICLE V Membership: The United Welfare Committee shall be comprised of four members,and a Secretary treasurer with the Minister as honary President. ARTICLE VI Duties: The Secretary-treasurer prepares,sends and keeps a careful record of all cards, boxes and flowers sent and the cost of same. Each member has a specified district under her care. She should visit any sick and ascertain the need,if in her judgement the case requires a card or a box of fruit, then she notifies the secretary who carries out her request. ARTICLE VII Prices : Flowers - to bereaved. Home garden flowers when possible $5.00 or under. Fruit - to hospital patients or those very ill at home 75¢ or $1.00 Cards â€" generally and to aged and shut-ins at Christmas 10¢
