The Opening Ceremonies and Flag Raising took place midâ€"morning outside the Museum's Administration Building. The new Women‘s Institute flag was raised as the crowd sang the Institute Ode. followed by O‘Canada led by the Member of Parliament forHalton, Iulien Reid, The gathering was welcomed by Margaret Zoeller ~ Chair oftl'ie Centennial Commit- tee. By 2:30 p.m.. it was time for a bit of entertainment and the unveiling of the winning quilts at the Gambrel Barn. Sev- eral songs from the Grumbling Grannies from Timiskaming brought chuckles from the floor.
