Towards 200I By Marylanes A year from the time oI writing this article, ACWW 2001 in Hamilton will be but a mem- ory â€" of Iriendships renewed and friendships new. of dynamic speakers and exciting ideas. and of projects you will want to try. ltwill also be a time to contemplate how to incorporate these programs, projects and ideas into our local plans to help women help themselves and their fami~ lies through education, awareness and financial support. In the meantime. the Ontario Coordinating Committee (OCC) is busy finalizing details to make ACWW 2001 in Hamilton the most memo- rable Triennial Conference ever. Included in these details are the following items. Souvenir Sales The Sales and Displays Committee of the OCC is busy planning for sales of many unique Canadian souvenir items, including quilt blocks. stamps and post cards. Photographs A professronal photographer. Mark Zelinski. has been hired for the full conlerence to take candid photos of conference activities and pre-planned group photos. Photos will be available for sale on a first come. first serve basrs. Audio Tapes Plans are currently being made with the Conven» tion Centre staff to have professional audiotapes of the theme Speakers available for sale at the close of the Conference. Audiotapes will be pre ordered during the Conference. Meals Breaklasts are included in the costs of accom- modation at specified hotels in Hamilton. Lunches and dinners are not included in the registration fee. except for two special events - the Ontario Day tours and barbecue on Saturday and the gala banquet on Sunday. A meal package is currently under negotiation with the Convention Centre. All buses will meet at a central spot (location to be announced) for an evening barbecue and special entertainment. Day visitors are invited to attend the barbecue and evening entertainment and to meet Confer. ence delegates. - $35 Companion Tours The Tours Committee of the OCC is currentl' making plans for Interesting day trips in th ‘ Hamilton Area for spouses or companions of delegates who do not wish to attend the Confer- ence proceedings. Destinations oi the various tours include the City of Hamilton. St. George. Stoney Creek. Niagara Falls. Niagaraâ€"on-theâ€" Lake. Brant County. Haldimand-Noriolk County and Toronto. A variety of sights will be Ieatured at each location. Details will be made available at a later date. Full Conference To attend all activities from June 11 to 1B. 2000. at the Hamilton Convention Centre and Hamilton Place. you must be a fully paid Individual Mem- ber (Category No) of ACWW for at least one year. Please note that if you have been chosen as a voting delegate by your Society. you must follow the Society's/ACWW's regulations re: membership. Full Conference registration is 200 pounds sterling before January 15. 2001. and 225 pounds stoning after that until the cutofl date April 27. 2001.
