The Simcoe East District recently published a 52-page booklet in recognition of their years of WI service. The booklet contains pictures and a brief history of the Branches, lists of District Presidents, Secretaries and Treasur- ers, and a copy of the minutes from the first District meeting. Seaforth WI members are busy creating theirannual quilt. The Branch has four quilter's who are joined by 14 quilters from the town of Seaforth. The event was well attended and the garden is marked by a plaque. Dundas To honour the 70m anniversary of the AC WW members of the Silver-Wood WI spoke about the structure, aims and projects of the worldwide organiâ€" zation. Special guest Madge Watt (played by Eve Martin) spoke to the group. Afterplaying ACWWJeoparu‘y, a 1 5 question oral quiz, members were given an ACWW bookmark. Educalion Coordmalor, Silver»Wood WI‘ Hallon Manitoulin East District WI The five Branches of Manitoulin East District - Mindemoya, Big Lake, Sandfield, Rockville and Sheguiandah â€" worked together to make a quilt. The sale of tick- ets on the quilt, sewn in the pattern of The Colonial Lady, raised $1400. District members Betty McGregor and Clara Cranston presented a $700 cheque to Myra Tallman, Presi- dent of the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary. The remaining $700 was presented to Jean Cunning- ham and Irene Bousquet of the Manitoulin Health Centre Auxiliary by Cheryl Harper, Vice President of the Manitoulin East District. Erland lee (Museum) Home â€" Events Update Oct. 1 - 31, 2000 8th Annual Local Artist Show and Sale 0 Works of art from local artists are on display and for sale. Nov. 2'1 - Dec, 10, 2000 "Heritage Christmas in Lights" - Victorian Christmas by day. modern Christmas by night. The 1808 heritage home will be decorated for a candle- light Christmas, while the Carriage House Exhibition Gallery will feature modern floral arrangements and take- home crafts for youngsters. At night the grounds will be illumi- nated with Christmas lights. The Museum will be open for three Tuesday evenings during this time, November 21 and 28 and December 5, from 7 to 9 pm. Dec, 9, 2000 Stoney Creek Historical Society’s 2000 Christmas House Tour - Once again, the Erland Lee Home will be part of the Stoney Creek Historical Society's 2000 Christmas House Tour on December 9 from 3 to 9 p.rn. Come and see six heritage homes on Saturday afternoon and evening. Tickets are $10 and include refreshâ€" ments. Transportation is not provided between homes. The Museum is closed from Dec. 23, 2000, untillan. 9. 2001. From December to April the Museum will be open at the above hours on Thursday, Friday and Sat- urday, or by appointment.
