The sun is shining and the birds are chirping as if to say “please come outside." to work in the garden or cut the grass. The farm work is in full swing with hay being cut and baled and the many other things that we do on our farm. As always. the work of the Women‘s Institute is in full swing. AS you read each edition of the Home & Cuurilry. you can find out what is happening at the provincial level by reading Board Brieï¬ngs. And there is considerable activity from the Districts and Branches around the province reported as well. By the time most of you have read this‘ the FWIO Provincial Conference in Sault e. Marie will be a memory. But what a memory! Many of us will have come to- gether to learn new skills at the workshops offered. to share and renew friendships and to have a lot of fun in the process. We are thankful to Conference Chair Arthena Hecker and her capable committees for organizing this event, A large thank you to members who attended and made the Conference such a great success. We look forward to Ctinlerence 2004. Many members have expressed concern over the recent news to cut back the hours of operation at the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead owned by the Federated Women‘s Institutes of Canada (FWIC). There have been concerns about maintaining the Homestead because of ti- nancial constraints. We in Ontario will do all that we can to help Fch with the Homestead. We already have a willing committee of Ontario Wl members who meet regularly to help With the operation of this historic building, Our Ontario protect “Focus High for Wl" is also in full swing. Many Branches have onded to the ' ' your Branch ii ge participating.7 Let us know what unique ideas you have used to meet the challenge.
