Picture of the Year Fran Farrell Presented CitiIen oi the Year Award Fran Farrell. FWIO Board Director for the Western Region. was presented with the Kincardine 2001 Citizen of the Year Award for her volunteer activities, including her Involvement intheCounty 4-H projects and Women‘s Institute. Last year. Fran led five 4~H Clubs, two ot which were pilot projects. She enjoys implement- ing new projects and working with young people in the community. Fran has served at Branch. District and Area levels in the WI. Fran is currently a member of the Purple Grove WI, Bruce County. "Women's Institute has given me opportunities for leadership training, self-confidence and organizational skills that enable me to pursue many personal goals." Her other involvements are numerous, including Past President of the St. Andrew's United Church Women and the Ripley Horticulture Society, Past Chair of "Roots of Bruce" and Associate Director of the Ripley Agricultural Society, as well as a Horticultural Judge, member of the church choir and a spare for the Ripley Curling Club. Jim and Fran Farrell own and operate a diary/cash crop farm and have four children â€" two girls who attend the University of Guelph and two boys who are In high school. Fran enioys gardening, quilting, crafting, writing and music.
