They have lived tor 32 years in a convened log. one-room schoolhouse on the bank of the Vermillion River. Gillian trained as an RN in London. England. and as a Midwife in London and Bristol, England. She worked as a Midwife in Bristol for two years before emigrating to Canada in 1966. Gillian has two children; Malcolm. an engineer, and Vanessa, a High School Art Teacher Until her retirement iour years ago. Gillian worked in a busy Labour and Delivery Unit in a hospital in SudbLiry, At the same time she and her husband ran a small hobby larm lor 15 years until their children went off to university. Gillian has been a Women's Institute member for more than 30 years. most of it with the Penage Road Branch. She was a FWIO Board Director in 1988 and 1989 and FWIO Resolutions Convenor for four years. She created and has maintained the Hospitality Homes Registry since 1989. Gillian’s community work includes 15 years with the Cub and Beaver Programs of Scouts Canada. live years leading a 4-H Club and six years as a Community Food Advisor.
