Team Leaders, Lenora Arbuckle and Marg Hall demonstrated many new methods on making flaky pastry and tasty ï¬llings. After the morning demos we enjoyed two different quiches and chicken potâ€" pie for lunch. Following lunch we made a fancy pastry using shortening and butter and while that was chilling we savoured lemon meringue pie and raisin pie that had been freshly baked. The leaders shared interesting hints and information and everyone received a cookbook so we could try the various recipes at home. A pie trivia contest ended the session and fortunately everyone made it home before the freezing rain started.
