J' '- lm, W LQKA~W - we TROD Catherine Junker After 74 years of Women's Institute Membership Catherine Junker remembers \ w her varied learning and social experiences. ‘ Hâ€" ~ Catherine has belonged to Hampstead (South Perth) 1935â€"1945, New Hamburg (Waterloo) 1946â€"1977, and Grand Bend (Huron South) 1977-2009. Catherine joined the Women's Institute because she drove her mother to the meetings. Catherine has led 4H clubs and adult courses and even taught a Hat Making Course three times! What she liked best about catering with her WI Branch was preparing and serving Breakfast to the RCMP Musical Ride Members Catherine has learned many homemaking skills and has kept up with the new ideas and techniques during her Women's Institute years. Catherine and her husband raised 4 children and is proud of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is now a great great grandmother. Catherine hopes the Members of Women's Institute keep learning new ideas, support their branch and keep their communities strong. Norfolk District Norfolk District has been inviting WI Members and the community out to learn to knitand to assemble lap robes and afghans for local charities. This is the second time they have hosted this ROSE Session and continue to receive a good response! Left: Marion Anderson is hard at work. Motherwell WI The Motherwell Wl (Perth South District) invited Glengowery WI along with several guests to join them this past Fall for a floral arranging workshop.36 people participated and each took home their own personal hand crafted Christmas centre piece. The workshop was directed by Sarah Nairn of The Little Falls Florist in St. Marys. The proceeds raised ($340) will 90 to ACWW to Women Feed the World.
