New FWIO President At the Thamesview Lodge in Chatham on November 30, 1991, Margaret Eberle, a member of the Palmyra W], was honoured by 200 friends and relatives as the new President of the Federated Women 's Institutes of Ontario. The event was hosted by the Kent East District. Hawkestone WI The members of the Hawkestone WI had a very busy 1991: knitting hats and mitts for the Coats for Kids Program and the Green Haven Home for Abused; making a quilt for a family whose home had burnt down; sponsoring a Christmas hay ride where Santa delivered boxes of candy to seniors and gift baskets to shut- ins; and knitting for the local hospital. This Branch donated 3,276 volunteer hours to community projects last year. Reynolds Creek WI The Mossley WI in East Middlesex District voted to change the name of their Branch. From the twelve names sub- mitted, Reynolds Creek won with an overwhelming majority. This group is presently participating in their seventh CFPL Radio 98 Community Club Awards Program, offered in the London area. This has been a good WI project; it not only raises money, it involves neigh- bours and friends and recycles pop cans and caps at the same time. Beaverton WI Last year, as part of the FWIO tree planting theme, Beaverton Branch mem- bers planted a maple tree on the lawn of their Institute Hall.
