The cen- ter has accommodation for 12 students at one time and space for 44 clogs. The dogs. usually purebred German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers or Iabradors. are sometimes raised in a home for one year before being trained as at seeing eye dog. The training is very intensive, often involving hours of practice on busy city streets, where I here are crowds. traffic and many. . any noises. To raise the money, the branch decided to occupy a table at the Maple Leaf Women‘s lnsitute 20th Annual Hobby Fair. held at the local community center. The branch divided into three groups â€" baking. crafts and novelties â€" in order to have a wide variety to sell at the fair. In March 1987, the director of the radiology department at Listowcl Memorial Hospital came to the branch’s meeting to accept a cheque for $250.
