FWIC Mrs. C. Diamond, Mrs. H. L. Noblitt Mrs. Diamond extended congratulations to Mrs. Noblitt new president elect of FWIC and to Mrs. Martha Bielish, upon her appointment to the Senate. During the Convener‘s reports, recommendations in- cluded 7 studying FWIC’s Land Use position; use of logos or slogans to identify Canadian products; using Laws per- taining to children as a guide for study in the Provinces: asking Provincial Conveners to be responsible for adding any new laws. the Northern Canada Committee reported that funding from the Government ofNorthwest Territories has been cut and now requires a detailed projected program so the Northern people will be asked for their value on our partici- pation. Expenses will be paid by FWIC to bring two repre- sentatives from Northern Coastal Labrador to Newfound- land W lConvention in I980. The Adelaide Hoodless Foundation Fund was inaug- urated this past year and a one dollar per member solicited. You will recall that FWIO Board postponed action because of the Lee Foundation Fund timing coinciding. At the National Convention in Saskatoon a ceremony was held where each Provincial President presented a donation in the replica of the Hoodless Homestead and over $7,000.00 was received. A charitable donations number was to be obtained for this Fund. The safety kits prepared for the FWIC competition last June are to be sent to the FWIC office for duplication and made available to those requesting them. A Committee has been appointed to consult with all the provinces requesting ideas for a new design for the FWIC pin to include the Newfoundland crest.
