Speaking of workshops, as I write this. preparations -e almost complete for the fall and winter training heels for both the senior and 4-H Homemaking Club ograms. Indications are that the enrollment will be ,ry high in both the senior indoor Gardening and 'ewel Embroidery courses. The staff are extremely Lppy about the prospect of large numbers. We do hope u will encourage all your friends and neighbors to rticipate. Remember, our programs are free and open any resident of Ontario. What better time than this nter to learn how to fit and sew a pair of pants so u'll be sure to keep warm? We were assigned ee places and we had 5,349 leaders last year. Our itistician friends in the Economics Branch helped us the the choice by a scientific random selection. The ee counties selected were Huron. Russell and ellington. The women chosen were, from Huron tunty. Mrs. Ruth Osborn of Monkton; Mme Jean erie Arcand, Embrun in Russell County. and Mrs. nrorhy Daynard of Guelph. Wellington County We pe they will enjoy their trip and learn a great deal about the 4-H movement and leadership. Fifty delegates from across Canada will attend. The annual leaders' trip to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair will take place as usual. However, this year the leaders will stay for two nights and we will hold our own mini-leadership conference at the same time. From the comments received last year from leaders, we know that many want to have more time to exchange ideas and gain tips on how to be a more successful leader. The staff are already planning what they hope will be a most interesting program. Since the last edition of Home and Country. there have been some staff changes.
