JWIO The St. Thomas Junior Women’s Institute have increased their membership since formation in 1976. The girls have had an interesting year. working to meet their own needs as well as promoting the name of the JWI in the community. Through the Home Economics Branch two of the members learned the many and interesting ways of preparing vegetables. In turn the leaders taught the members new methods of utilizing vegetables. Some of the members who could crochet taught the rest to make granny squares, then an afghan was completed and sold as a money making project. Some of the special activity programs included hand writing analysis, child care. crafts, candle making. rug hooking. danish wool painting. The aim of the St Thomas lWl for the coming year is to increase membership. grow in personal knowledge and become more active in the community.
