it and we realized over $20 for our depleted treasury. ' In February our International Program featured a talk on “The International Peace Garden" and a reading “In Westminster Abbey” from the book “From A roadsrde Window". An Institute Hall and Its Program By Mrs. Wm Becker N MARCH 1962 Vineland Women‘s Insti- Itute bought, moved and remodelled a church at an overall investment of $15,- 000 and through private donations and an annual bazaar our loan is now $4800. This building now known as the Vineland Women’s Institute Hall, Rittenhouse Road, is the only hall in the district and through rents we are able to maintain its upkeep and feel we are carrying on a worthwhile cause for the community at large. A day nursery in the community rents space in the hall for eight months of the year and 3 Well Baby Clinic rents it all year. Every second Saturday evening for nine months of the year “Youth Time", a religious young people‘s group, rents the hall. Some of the churches in the village without adequate facilities of their own rent the hall for banquets and bazaars. The Ontario Provincial Police rent twice a month and the Cubs and Scouts for their Father and Son Banquet. We also have bridal showers, wedding receptions, anni- versary parties, etc. However, along with the renting of the hall we, the Institute members, do quite a lot of catering for dinners, wedding receptions and card parties. Along with this of course, we carry out a full Institute program with short courses and local leaders’ training school, two 4-H groups and on May 20th we celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our total receipts for the year were $6,627.20 our expenditures $5,974.83 and we hope the coming year will be equally successful.
