' a long into thefltmje To make a donation, contact the FWIO Provincial Office at 905â€"662â€"2691 Glasgow WI Nominates Youth for Prestigious Medal Glasgow WI (Renfrew South District, Eastern Area) nominated Paige Dillabough for the Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers. The medal is to recognize youth in Ontario who understand the importance of volunteering and who demonstrate leadership, initiative and perseverance. Paige was one of seven youth to receive the award in 2014. At a recent meeting, Paige spoke ofher battle with cancer. Sincethe age ofeight, she has undergone many surgeries and has had to learn to walk and talk all over again. She appreciated the love and support received from the Children‘s Hospital so much that she wanted to give back to help other children. Paige volunteers over five hundred hours a year at fundraising events and inspires her peers as well as many others. This award for Heritage Leadership, was given in recognition ofthe accomplishmentsthe District has made in historical work and community efforts for over 100 years. Barr of Chatham, Ontario and a Member of Kent Bridge WI (Kent District, Southern Area) was recently honoured for her 75 years of service to Women’s Institute. Evelyn Peck (FWIO President, 2013â€"2014) presented Maw with a special vase on behalf of FWIO. Maw joined the Simcoe WI in 1939 with her grandmother and mother. She later joined Lynn Valley, Thames River, Kent Centre and lastly, Kent Bridge WI. Mary continues to offer her knowledge to the Women’s Institute. She has held offices at the Branch, District and Area levels. She also served as Provincial Board Director for Southwestern Area during 1976â€" 1979. Congratulations, Mary on this tremendous milestone!
