(4 ALL FORA GOOD CAUSE v Big Lake WI The Members of Big Lake WI (North Central Area) recently donated an assortment of articles for Canada Comforts. Among the items donated were: 52 teddy bears, 16 pneumonia vests, 52 bibs, 43 washcloths, 4 sweaters, 108 dresses and panties. Women’s Institutes across Canada have been invited to participate in this important project, and Big Lake WI plans to be actively involved again this year. One of the items for their next project will be shorts for little boys. This was profit from the Waterloo District (Guelph Area) Women‘s Day that was held in March. The ladies were out in full force, baking an assortment of pies to sell along with cookies, squares, muffins, pickles, jams, pickled eggs, and jelly to benefit local organizations. Items went fast â€" nearly 100 pies in two different sizes were sold! Pictured {LiR} are Ruby Lagerwerli Deb Page, and Lois Gill working at the hotdog cooking area.
