Hastings District Hastings East, North and West Districts recently amalgamated to form the new District of Hastings (Trent Valley Area). It didn‘t take long for them to become involved! This fall, the schools of Hastings & Prince Edward counties sent their grade four students over a two day period to "Agribition" at the Hastings County Museum of Agriculture Heritage. The cooking, wrapping and serving of over 1,000 hamburgers to feed these hungry - students, was the first venture of this newly formed Hastings District. The ladies meet at the River Valley WI Community Centre and used their newly renovated facilities to accomplish this feat. Grey Districts The 104th Grey County Women’s Institute Rally was held at Lamlash in August. The theme for the day was "Let’s Have Fun" and that is exactly what they did with jokes, poems, and skits, all to make you laugh. Three "Agnes MacPhail Awards” were given out by Meriâ€" Diana Carroll, Ist Vice President ofthe Rally, in recognition of worthy service for Home and Country. Recipients were Viola Clark, Sheila Carmichael, and May McLean.
