»â€"/ CELEBRATING {1100/4 ANNIVERSARIESI V‘ Thornyhurst WI The 100th Anniversary of Thornyhurst WI (Southwestern Area) was celebrated onJune 15,2011 at the Thornyhurst School â€" the location where the Branch was organized. A light lunch was served, and a lovely afternoon was enjoyed with 50 guests and speakers. Membership pins were presented to Velma Clancy (60 years), Ann Shepley (50 years), Irene Kraayenbrink (40 years), Lucianne Bunda (30 years), and Doris Fournic (25 years). Due to the passing of Member Lucille Caran, her daughter Marcia Bentan was presented with her mother’s 40 year pin. Marcia is a Branch Member herself. Every Member received their 100 year pin and are all ven/ proud of their Branch for achieving this milestone. Belgrave WI Belgrave WI (London Area) held dual events to celebrate its 100th Anniversary.On February 15, 2011, Members held a potluck luncheon for the community. The 100 years of community achievements were reviewed by President Doreen Marks. On June 7, 2011, the Branch celebrated with municipal representatives and Area and Provincial WI dignitaries. FWIO President, Carol Innes, presented 100 year pins to the current Members. Guest speaker, Debbie Bauer, reminded all that WI is as important to women today as it was in Adelaide Hoodless’ day. Louise WI June 17, 2011 was a day of celebrating 100 years. Louise WI (Greyâ€"Bruce Area) held an afternoon Tea with fancy sandwiches for approximately 80 guests. Branch President, Janice Campbell, was emcee. Congratulations were received from local dignitaries and WI Members. FWIO President, Carol Innes, presented 100 year pins to Members. The planning committee presented certificates of service years ranging from 4 to 60 years of dedication. On June 29th, another celebration was held at the home of Eleanor Krauter. This home was where the Branch’s organizing meeting took place under the direction of Eleanor’s motherâ€"inâ€" law, Mrs. Peter Krauter. Heathcote WI The Members of Heathcote WI (Grey- Bruce Area) celebrated their Branch’s 100th Anniversary on June 22, 2011 with an afternoon of stories, photos and memorabilia of their past 100 years of community involvement. Over 50 ladies, WI Members, past Members and friends attended this special celebration.
