Kay Devlin Kay Devlin, a longâ€"time Member of Balderson WI (Lanark South District, Eastern Area), has found a new talent. When Kay was 92 years old, she enrolled in an Art course and discovered an avid passion for painting which has produced colourful, original renditions offlowers, Kay Dev/in scenery, animals and birds. Her paintings are created by many interesting techniques, using acrylics, watercolours and pencils. A number of her paintings were selected by a committee of Balderson WI Members and have been used to create a 2011 calendar. The calendar was an instant success and sold out very quickly. Kay is an active 94 year old resident of Perth Community Care Centre in Perth, Ontario. She and her husband of 63 years, Clarke, share a room there. At 75 years of age, Kay enrolled in a Creative Writing course through the Board of Education. Since then she has written hundreds of poems, some humorous, some serious, most of which she can still recite in the spur of a moment. At 85, she took a computer course and wrote a poem about a ï¬ght with a (computer) mouse. Kay is an inspiration to us all, keeping her mind active with her interest in life, friends and community. 1081012basics F WIO’s New Twoâ€"Year Integrated Theme!
