Women Walk the World Wentworth District In April, WI Members around the world laced up for a good cause. Strabane WI organizes a weekly walking club on local scenic trails and, this time, they were joined by WI Members from Westover WI, Rockton WI and the 1st Rockton Girl Guides, to participate in ACWW’s Women Walk the World. The event aimed to raise funds to boost families in developing countries. Although international in scope, WI Districts and Branches organized their own walks, which mostly took place the last weekend of April to coincide with ACWW Day on April 29th. The local walkers enjoyed a scenic hike on the trails of Valens Conservation Area. The cost to participate was $10, and the $200 raised will go toward ACWW’s Pennies for Friendship. Special thanks to the sponsorship from WI Members who could not participate in the walk. Pictured Left: Wl Members and the lst Rockton Girl Guides.
