Russell Village WI The Members of Russell Village WI (Eastern Area) have an idea for you to consider for your next ROSE Session: Your own Backyard Geoâ€"Orienteering Adventure. Russell Village WI Member, |na Henry, and her family own a beautiful piece of property that banks onto the Castor River. She suggested that Branch Members take a nature walkto view the Village of Russell from the other side ofthe river. |na pointed out plants of interest, from walnut trees and endangered species of trees to historical landmarks and indications of a time long ago. The ladies continued along about a 1/2 km to her family gardens in which they grow many varieties of plants and, of course, her famous garlic gardens. Then, they all took part in a Geoâ€"Quiz on her gardens. It was a wonderfully relaxing and informative evening which concluded with homemade rhubarb punch and rhubarb crisp! It was natural, it was good exercise, it ‘ was so relaxing â€" and it was free! Literally, right in her own "u back yard! Langton WI The Members of Langton WI (Hamilton Area) hosted a ROSE Session on the topic of Healthy Eating with Epicure Representative, Leona Milne. Blackstock WI This year marked the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day! The Members of Blackstock W! (Central Area) and two other Branches decided to attend an International Women’s Day Tea Party sponsored by Bev Oda, MPfor Durham.
