In 1906, Edwin Balsdon bought approximately 190 acres of land from Mrs. Timothy Walsh, lots 20 and 21. He sold 40 acres fronting the lake to Mr. James Grills, who in turn sold it to the A. E. Osler Co., of Toronto. In 1952, W. D. Smith bought this 40 acres who in turn sold the part of it south of the Range Line to the Ontario Hydro,in 1959. The homestead was purchased by Clare Balsdon in 1942. Mixed farming has always been carried on, milking around twenty-five cows. Bulk handling of milk started in 1958.The farmers no longer have to lift the heavy milk cans. In l953, Crusader Development, purchased the farm. They intend to use lot 20 for a housing development and later on expect to use lot 21 as an industrial area. Ref:Mr. & Mrs.Balsdon. A.C.S.
